About Ama & Da

Fashion born from authenticity, movement, and a love for creation. The journey began with Ama crafting clothing for her ashram community using repurposed bedsheets—a testament to her passion for self-expression and individuality. Each design embodies the philosophy of flow, drawing inspiration from the authentic and graceful movements of dancers.

We use high-quality viscose spandex for its stretch and comfort, along with linen for its organic, natural drape. Our pieces blend playful energy, dynamism, and a touch of sensuality, mirroring the ever-changing rhythms of life. Every creation celebrates the beauty of movement while ensuring comfort and distinctive style.

Ama.y.da is more than fashion; it’s a celebration of individuality and self-expression in movement. Our pieces are crafted to inspire confidence, creativity, and authenticity. Understated tones and soft fabric curves as a bold statement of fashion, encouraging you to embrace your flow.

Origin Story:

My name is Ama, and I spent most of my life in the jungle, living simply and close to the earth, yet always indulging in my lifelong passion for fashion. I love playing with fabrics, creating unique pieces that allow and inspire you to flow like a dancer in your everyday life—on your “performance” stage in this world. I believe clothing is art for everyday; a form of self expression that should highlight your character and beauty.

My mission is to dress the people I love as a form of giving love to the world around me.

It all began with upcycling discarded garments into personal “fashion statement” pieces for those I cared about. I started with old bedsheets, transforming them into flowy pants for the workers at the ashram (a meditation center) as an act of love and expression. My goal was simple: to give people something unique—clothing with a message that made them feel special. This playful creativity soon spread, and before long, I was dressing everyone around me, turning everyday life into a unique Ama.y.da runway show.

My fashion inspiration comes from the beauty of movement in everyday life as a dance. Also, from nature and grounded understated form as a bold statement of fashion.

At the ashram, the clothing I created had a functional purpose—likely to get dirty and worn down. But I designed them to be uniquely worn out, with intention and love, as a form of artistic expression. I believe we, as humans, are always changing, and our clothing should reflect that. This belief led me to create pieces that can be worn in multiple ways or combined differently to reflect our ever-evolving selves.

I love working with earthy tones, stretchy and comfortable fabrics, and light, slightly transparent materials that add a touch of sexiness. I enjoy combining different colors from the same fabric, transforming the simplicity of a basic piece into a work of art with a funky, playful twist—always aiming to create something unique, playful, and subtly sexy—because that’s who I am.
